Important Information About Quality Seals

IAQ: Indoor Air Quality Seal

Indoor Environmental Standards Organization (IESO) is a wholly owned subsidiary and non-profit organization that provides a national forum for the development and publication of voluntary consensus standards for the assessment, remediation and management of indoor environments.

As an American National Standards Institute Accredited Standards Developer, IESO’s mission is to be the foremost developer and provider of voluntary consensus indoor environmental quality standards, related technical information, and services having recognized quality and applicability that promote public health and safety, and the overall quality of life.

IESO was founded in 2002 and maintains a headquarters in Rockville, MD.

At Winnipeg Carpet Cleaning, we always consider indoor air quality and IAQ standards before recommending a product for your home or business.

Green Seal Certified

The products that we use here at Winnipeg Carpet Cleaning are Green Seal Certified whenever possible. It is our goal to reduce our impact on the planet in every way possible.

Green Seal Mission

Green Seal is a non-profit organization that uses science-based programs to empower consumers, purchasers and companies to create a more sustainable world.

Green Seal Vision

A Green Economy. One that is as sustainable as possible – renewable, with minimal impact – so that our environment, all forms of life, and our natural resources are protected, and our social needs and values are honored.

Green Seal History

Green Seal is a pioneer in promoting a sustainable economy. In 1989 there were no environmental certification programs in the US. During this year, our founders had the foresight to recognize the need for a tool to help shoppers find truly green products. They developed the Green Seal as a non-profit to stand for absolute integrity. Over the years the reputation of the Green Seal brand has grown to symbolize environmental leadership, and it continues to represent proven-green products and services.

EPA: Environmental Protection Agency

epa_logoThe main focus of the United States government agency, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), is the environment and its impact on our health. Founded in 1970, the EPA is best known for creating and enforcing standards related to manufacturing and toxic waste removal and cleanup. However, the EPA has long been a supporter of green building initiatives, and the agency has founded several programs that impact homeowners and businesses who want to “go green”, improve indoor air quality, and reduce or eliminate carcinogens and other toxic chemical exposure.

While the EPA is an American Organization, we at Winnipeg Carpet Cleaning believe that the EPA represents a governing body that provides clear direction and rules regarding how safe chemicals are that enter our homes, our businesses, and our environment. Since a significant number of our products are manufactured in the US, we often refer to the highest ratings that the EPA gives to the products offered to Canadian households as the standards for health, safety and the environment are generally paralleled between countries.

CRI: CARPET & RUG INSTITUTE ONLY THE BEST PASS THE TEST

Carpet cleaning product, methods and equipment are improving all the time, but not all cleaning products clean equally well. CRI tested an assortment of carpet cleaning solutions and equipment and found a wide variance in how well these products work — and discovered that some even damage carpet.

The CRI Seal of Approval program identifies effective carpet cleaning solutions and equipment that clean carpet right the first time and protect a facility’s carpet investment. Not all products clean well enough to earn the Seal of Approval distinction, so look for the blue and green CRI Seal of Approval as proof that you are purchasing or using a quality product.

Using Seal of Approval certified cleaning products helps your staff do their job better – the first time; it improves customer satisfaction by cleaning carpet better and keeping carpet looking great for longer; and it provides a strong competitive advantage.

Carpet cleaning product manufacturers

Only the best products can pass the CRI Seal of Approval testing and certification program. Products that pass these rigorous standards have proven cleaning effectiveness and a clear competitive advantage, as studies show that consumers are predisposed to buy a product with a certification like the CRI Seal of Approval.
