The Reality
What’s actually in your ducts right now.
If you’ve never had your ducts cleaned, or it’s been more than 5 years, here’s a partial list of what’s circulating through your home every time the furnace or AC kicks on:
None of it leaves the system on its own. It just keeps recirculating, every cycle, all winter and summer long.
- Dust and dander. Years of it. Even with a clean filter
- Pollen. Settled inside the system over multiple summers
- Pet hair and pet skin. Builds up on the inside of every duct run
- Construction debris. Drywall dust, sawdust, insulation fibres if you’ve ever renovated
- Insects and rodent droppings. More common than you’d think, especially in older homes
- Mould spores. Particularly on AC coils and in the cold air return where condensation
collects
Benefits
What clean ducts actually do for you.
Less dust on every surface.
The dust you’re constantly wiping off shelves and tables came from somewhere. Your ducts are the most likely source
No more stale air smell.
That faintly musty smell when the furnace turns on after summer? It’s coming from inside the ducts
Longer HVAC equipment life.
Your furnace blower and AC condenser work harder when they’re moving dirty air. Cleaning extends equipment life
Allergy and asthma relief.
Reduces the recirculating allergen load. Customers with seasonal allergies notice the difference within days
Lower heating and cooling bills.
Clean ducts and clean coils mean your HVAC system moves air more efficiently and runs less
Peace of mind for new home buyers.
Especially if the previous owners had pets or smoked.
WHY US
Why duct cleaning needs a real team, not one tech with a shopvac.
If you’ve gotten Groupon style “$99 duct cleaning” quotes, here’s what’s actually being offered: one person with a portable vacuum, working through your entire system in 60 to 90 minutes, hitting maybe a third of what should be cleaned. The “before and after” photos are usually the same vent, just one wiped down.
A proper duct cleaning takes a crew. A truck mounted negative pressure system with the suction power to actually move debris through your full duct run. A real time camera to verify what’s been cleaned. Compressed air whips and rotary brushes for each vent. And enough time, typically 2 to 4 hours for a residential home, to do every register, the cold air return, the supply trunk, and the AC coils properly.
Our duct cleaning is performed by a 2 to 3 person crew on every job. Our team holds ASCS certification (Air Systems Cleaning Specialist, the NADCA standard for individual technicians) and IICRC AMRT (Applied Microbial Remediation Technician for mould and biological contamination). We’re a NADCA member company and we follow the ACR Standard, the published industry standard for duct cleaning, on every job. Most local “duct cleaners” don’t carry any of these certifications.
WHY US
Our duct cleaning process.
Pre inspection.
Walk the home, count vents, note any concerns (allergies, recent renovations, mould history).
Negative pressure setup.
Truck mounted equipment connected to your main duct trunk. Creates the suction to pull debris through the full system.
Vent by vent agitation.
Compressed air whips and rotary brushes work each vent and supply line individually
.
Cold air return cleaning.
The dirtiest part of the system, often skipped by cheap providers.
Camera inspection.
Real-time visual confirmation that each line is clean. Customer can watch.
Reassembly & final walkthrough.
Vents replaced, area left cleaner than we found it, walkthrough with you to confirm satisfaction.
When
When to book duct cleaning.
- Every 3 to 5 years for most homes. Sooner with pets, allergies, or smokers in the household.
- Right after a renovation. Drywall dust and construction debris go straight into your duct system. Clean it before it recirculates for years.
- When you move in. You don’t know what the previous owners’ habits or pets left behind.
- If you smell something off when the furnace turns on. That stale or musty smell isn’t normal.
- If anyone in the house has allergies or asthma that gets noticeably worse indoors.
- Before AC season. Coil cleaning and mould check before summer humidity sets in.
FAQ
How long does duct cleaning take?
2 to 4 hours for a typical residential home. Larger homes or systems with significant
contamination can take longer. Our crew works efficiently and we’ll quote you an honest time
estimate when you book.
How much does it cost?
Pricing depends on the number of vents, the size of the system, and any specialty work like AC coil cleaning or mould remediation.
Do you really need to clean coils too?
For homes with central AC, yes. The evaporator coil is where condensation collects and mould grows. A clean duct system with dirty coils is still recirculating microbial contamination
through your home.
Will I see a difference right away?
Most customers notice less dust on surfaces within a few days, and improved air quality
(especially for allergies) within the first week. The “stale air” smell is usually gone
immediately.
Are you NADCA members?
Yes. We’re a member of the National Air Duct Cleaners Association and our team is ASCS certified (Air Systems Cleaning Specialist). We follow the ACR Standard, the published industry standard for duct cleaning, on every job.
Why does it cost more than the $99 ads I see online?
Because $99 duct cleaning isn’t actually duct cleaning. It’s a single tech with a portable vacuum, hitting a few vents, and calling it done. A proper job requires a crew, truck-mounted equipment, real certifications, and the time to do every part of the system. The math on $99 doesn’t work without cutting corners.
